These conditions of play are subject to alteration at the discretion of the Match Committee.
1. ELIGIBILITY *Players competing in Tuesday and Sunday Men’s 18 hole events must hold a current Men’s Golf handicap and belong to a registered golf club. *Caddies are not allowed in Tuesday and Sunday Men’s events unless endorsed by the Match Committee. *Visiting Men Golfers are welcome to play in most Tuesday and Sunday competitions, including Medal days, but will not be eligible to win a medal. Bookings for visitors can be made from the Monday prior to the competition. *Professional Men Golfers with a current Men’s Golf handicap, are welcome to play in Tuesday and Sunday competitions, but will only be eligible to compete in the daily nett event and ball comp.
*Motorised transport is permitted, but only with the approval of Breakers Country Club committee. *Mobile phones are permitted on the course, but MUST be off or switched to silent and only used in an emergency situation. *Slow play will be monitored. If necessary, action may be taken by the Match Committee for repeated slow play.
2. TIMESHEETS *Players can book times using the computers located outside the golf office and in the pro shop. Timesheets will be available two weeks in advance for most events. Players will be allocated times in drawn events. *Players who wish to play in a competition and have not booked a starting time MUST contact the pro-shop for a time. *Players should report to the starter, ready to play, 20 minutes before their starting time. * Play in most competitions will be in groups of four. Therefore, it may be necessary for the starter to move players to a vacant timeslot. *Players not ready to play when called by the starter may be moved elsewhere or may not be allowed to play at the discretion of the starter or committee. *If unable to play, players must notify the starter as soon as possible, prior to hit-off time. *A player who cancels on the day of competition is not eligible to play later in the competition from which he has cancelled.
3. COMPETITION FEES *Unless changed by the committee in conjunction with the Mounties board the weekly fees will be $20, which includes green fee, grounds levy competition fee and ball cop
4. COMPETITIONS Competitions are listed in the Fixture Book and may be changed if necessary. Trophies will be determined by the size of the field.
Singles Events * A minimum of 11 players is required for a competition. All singles events will be played in either 3 or 4 Divisions subject to the number of players determined by the competition committee *Divisions are subject to change at the discretion of the Match Committee.
Monthly Medal will be played once a month in conjunction with the daily event and is restricted to Breakers Men members. There is no entry fee. Ties in the daily event and Monthly Medal will be determined by count back *All Monthly medal winners are eligible to play off for the Medal of Medals at the end of the season. Team Events *Team of Two......8 players required for a competition *Team of Three....12 players required for a competition *Team of Four.....20 players required for a competition Players Without A Partner In Four Ball Event, with no singles event in conjunction *Players without a partner will be issued with a score card, on which this player’s singles score shall be recorded by one of the other members of the group. The player will be responsible for the return of the card. Rule 6-6 *Players without partners will be drawn with another player without a partner. If there are unequal numbers, the remaining person will be drawn with another singles player (Swingeer) . A four ball card will then be compiled from scores returned on the individual cards. If only one individual player, play a swinger. *See separate conditions of play for GNSW 4BBB Par Classic. Players Without a Partner in 2BBB Event held in conjunction with a singles event When a singles competition is run concurrently with a 2BBB, swingers will be allowed. The event will be run in accordance with Golf Australia memo on Concurrent Four-ball and Singles Competitions. Handicaps to be Used Singles: Full handicap will be used for all Stroke, Stableford and Par events.
Foursomes: Half the combined handicaps American Foursomes: 3/8 combined handicaps 2 person Ambrose: ¼ combined handicaps 3 person Ambrose: 1/6 combined handicaps 4 person Ambrose: 1/8 combined handicaps
5. CONTINUOUS COMPETITIONS
1. Stableford Memorial Cup (all eligible...no entry fee) *Best three Stableford scores returned from five stipulated rounds. *Played in handicap divisions determined by Match Committee. Players remain in the division they were in at the time of the first Stableford Brooch round in which they took part but must compete on their current handicap. *The winner in each division is the player who returns the highest aggregate score of her best three rounds. All ties, after the completion of all rounds, will be decided by the GA count back system on the last card returned of the best three cards. If still tied then the count back system is applied to that 18 hole card in the usual manner.
2. Eclectic Competition *Best score on each hole in any Tuesday and Sunday Medal Rounds competition is recorded. Provided cards are signed and gross score is correct, the scores will be recorded even if the round is not completed. *Conducted in one divisions . but nett scores will be determined by half their handicap at the conclusion of the competition. *Trophies given for gross and nett. One trophy per person. Gross takes precedence over nett. Ties decided by normal 18 hole count back.
3. Bill Birch Knockout *The Bill Birch Knockout is an extra Knockout Competition over 5 games of single stableford on Tuesdays and Sundays Competition is in 3 Divisions : Tuesday am – Tuesday pm and Sundays The knockout works in the following manner in each division Round 1 – Best 18 scores qualify Round 2 – Best 10 scores move on Round 3 – Best 5 scores move on Round 4 – Best 2 into the final Round 5 - Winner Round 6 – Final of divisional winners
4. Club Championships MEMBERS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS • Singles and Juniors – 72 Holes Stroke & Net • Veterans – 72 Holes Stroke & Net • Foursomes – 27 Holes Stroke & Net In order to qualify in a major championship event, player are required to have played at least five [5] handicapping competition games at Breakers during the previous 12 month period of the event being played. All handicaps at the start of these events will remain static throughout that event but can be varied for the day's event. Playoffs for Scratch Championships. Net results will be discerned by the computer program using a countback system.
5. Medal of Medals MEMBERS MEDAL OF MEDALS – SUNDAYS & TUESDAYS A monthly Medal will be contested in Grades every month. All Net Grade winners will contest the Medal of Medals in October with prizes allocated for the Winners & Runners Ups.
6. Eagles Nest EAGLES NEST (Breakers Mens Golf Club) Members only, starting with 6 golf balls and conducted during Tuesday and Sunday competitions. Competed for on 4th/13th hole, the aim is to achieve a shot within 60cm of the hole off the tee. Each week that the competition is not won, the Nest jackpots by one ball to a maximum of 24 balls. Any balls over this number go towards the next Nest. Holes in one receive recognition on the honour board & eagles nest prize.
